Many of the services you need when travelling can be provided by the community themselves – bike hire, toilets, e-charge points and local information, even fuel.
So when out and about in Scotland take a little time to work out who is providing that service as there is a real possibility the toilets you use or the information centre you drop in to is owned and run by the local community.
They do this to make you feel welcome and to give you the best possible time in their area. Very often the people you meet will be volunteering so when you spot a donation box do dig deep and support them.
Immerse yourself in Scotland's communities to get a better experience for you, and leave a positive, lasting impression on the communities you visit.
